Are you looking for ways to take your water from plain to amazing? We’ve all heard that drinking water is important for a healthy body. It helps with digestion and hydration, keeps you full and will even improve your complexion! However, with so many other beverages competing for our attention (soda, coffee, energy drinks, tea, juice, etc.) it can be difficult to choose water over our many other options.
One thing that I have done that really helps liven up my water is to put different fruit combinations in a container of water overnight in the refrigerator. You will wake up and have cool refreshing water with a hint of the fruit you used.
I love the taste of fruit water but I can’t stand the texture of anything floating in my water (I’m looking at you pulp)! If you are like me and need to have your water free of any objects that you might drink, I would suggest using a strainer and straining into a glass before drinking.
I’ve tried several containers for fruit water and my favorites are mason jars or using a large pitcher that has a built in flavor infuser. There are also sports bottles with flavor infusers if you want a way to easily carry your fruit water on the go. You can order any of the three items below:
Some tips for adding fruit to your water:
- Cut any citrus into slices that are about 1/4 of an inch think.
- Use fruits that won’t fall apart easily in water
- Some fruits like blackberries and cherries may need to be cut in half to get a stronger fruit flavor
- Use approximately 1/4-1/3 cup of fruit if you are using a mason jar and fill the fruit diffuser if you are using a pitcher that has one included.
