It’s Friday! One of my favorite days of the week! I love the thought of getting to spend the weekend with family and friends and catching up on things around the house. Here are some things that I am loving this week in no particular order:
1.Since i am training for the Disney Princess half marathon, my feet have been really sore. I bought a pair of compression socks and it has helped sooooooo much! 19 different colors and the fit is perfect. Plus, who wants to wear plain black or white compression socks when you can have such fun colors!
2. Another pair of socks I am loving are the injinji toe socks. They are low cut but have a higher and thicker back to help prevent blisters and each toe is separated which helps prevent blisters on your toes.
3. If you are going to be exercising for more than about 4 miles, try Gu Gel. It comes in a small package that you can eat while you are working out and helps to give you an extra boost during longer training sessions. They have many different flavors but the kind I have tried is the Caramel and it tastes like you are eating melted caramel.
4. If you live near a Food City check out their Go Cart! Order your food online and for a $4.99 surcharge per order, a personal shopper at Food City will pick your items for you from your list, bag them, text you when your order is ready, meet you in front of the store and put your groceries in your car. If an item that you want isn’t available, they call or text you to see if you would prefer a similar item that is in stock. You can get deli meat and cheese cut the way you want it and the produce they have chosen for me has looked perfect each time. They are also careful about checking the dates on the food so that you don’t receive a product that is about to expire. If you don’t have a Food City in your area, check out the grocery stores around you as several others have a similar program. Great for when you are sick, tired or just too busy to get to the store. 5. Laundry is my nemesis. I don’t enjoy laundry, forget about it (until I need something specific to wear) and I think that it breeds in my laundry room because every day there is an exponentially larger amount than what was in there the day before. With three teenage boys and my husband and I, we make a lot of laundry! If you are like me and you struggle with doing laundry, check out the laundromat near you and see if they offer a laundry service. I just found out this week that our laundromat will wash, dry, fold and hang clothes for $1.25/pound which is a bargain in my opinion! They provide laundry detergent and bags to bring your clothes back home in. The service is same day so if you drop your laundry off in the morning, it is ready to picked up in the afternoon. This has taken a huge weight off of my shoulders knowing that whatever laundry I haven’t had a chance to do during the week can be dropped off and taken care of on Friday.
