Do you love to decorate for holidays but don’t have the time or money to make or buy something elaborate? Tonight I made an Easter centerpiece that cost a total of $4.00 for supplies (I already had the mason jar) and it took me 5 minutes to put together! Here are the dets.
I bought blue and green Styrofoam eggs, some Easter themed ribbon and Easter egg picks. I had already purchased 2 quart mason jars because my plan was to make salads in them. Well…so far I haven’t made any salads but I have made two cute centerpieces using them! So I will call that a win!
My first step was to alternate the green and blue Styrofoam eggs in the mason jar.
Next, I placed the tall Easter egg picks in between the Styrofoam eggs. Make sure to put the wooden skewers more in the middle so that they don’t show through the glass. You can adjust the heights so that you can see each of the eggs more easily. Since the jar is almost filled with the Styrofoam eggs, the picks will stay in place nicely.
The last step is to wrap your Easter patterned ribbon around the jar. The ribbon I bought was thick so I decided to just wrap it around instead of making a bow. If I had bought smaller ribbon, I would have made a cute bow on the front. I put the ribbon a little higher up on the jar to hide some of the skewers and because I wanted to see the blue and green eggs in the bottom of the jar. I just secured the ribbon with clear tape in the back (I’m low maintenance like that).
Now I have a pretty little Easter centerpiece that only took 5 minutes and cost $4.00! What are some of your favorite easy and inexpensive Easter decorations?
